Donnie's psychiatrist. Under hypnosis he tells her about Frank; in the Director's Cut she admits near the end that his medication has been a placebo.
Dr Thurman is the film's rational voice. She hears about Frank, the countdown and the flooding under hypnosis, and diagnoses paranoid schizophrenia. Yet her final act in the Director's Cut - telling Donnie his pills were placebos - is an admission that the visions were not chemical. In the closing montage she lies awake in the Primary Universe.
