God's Channel
The path each person is predestined to travel, as Donnie describes it to Professor Monnitoff: if God controls time, every living thing moves along a set channel.
Donnie: "If God controls time, then all time is pre-decided... every living thing follows along a set path. And if you could see your path or channel, then you could see into the future." Monnitoff, uneasy, ends the conversation: "I'm not going to be able to continue this conversation... I could lose my job." The liquid spears are the channel made visible.
