The Manipulated
Everyone around the Living Receiver inside a Tangent Universe. They are either Manipulated Living or, if they die there, Manipulated Dead.
The Manipulated are the supporting cast of the film. Their exaggerated behaviour - Kitty Farmer's zeal, Jim Cunningham's sermons, Seth and Ricky's bullying - is the "irrational, bizarre and often violent behaviour" Sparrow attributes to their task. When the Tangent Universe ends they wake in the Primary Universe with, at most, a dream of what happened.
